Every Rhode Island Energy bill gives a breakdown of exactly what you are being charged. Review this sample bill and compare it to your own.

This section gives a detailed breakdown of your "Delivery" charge plus your "Supply" charges. The number of days within your service period can affect your current charge. Also, the weather/temperature can affect your bill amount. An Actual or Estimated read is based on our ability or inability to obtain a read off of your meter. Estimated read is based off of the average usage for the same period last year.Your total usage is the number of kilowatt hours used between your "previous meter reading" and "current meter reading".This portion of your bill contains basic information of your Energy Supplier Company (ESCO). For question regarding your Supply, please contact your ESCO company listed in this section of your bill. Click here for more information about ESCOs. NOTE: Rhode Island Energy does not contact its customers to market an ESCO company, nor their supply rates.If you see "Rhode Island Energy" listed here, then that means Rhode Island Energy is responsible for the Delivery and Supply of your service. Aggregate: Sometimes a city/town will enroll its residents with a particular ESCO. Contact your town hall to see if you are part of an aggregate.Here are some things to consider when choosing your energy supplier. ·Legit: Do your research to confirm the legitimacy of an ESCO. Contact you state regulatory website for a list of authorized companies. ·Cancellation fees: Some ESCOs enforce a cancellation fee when opting out of a contract. ·Read through the terms of agreement before signing ·Compare rates: energy supply rates fluctuate; it is important that you compare Rhode Island Energy’s rate with other ESCO’s rate.This is not the dollar($) amount owed to Rhode Island Energy. This is just a portion of your current charges.
